Woodett's Diner
About This Spot
Woodett’s Diner in Gardnerville offers a warm, inviting refuge where time seems to slow just enough to savor the simple pleasures of good company and well-made food. Nestled along U.S. Highway 395, this friendly spot carries the comforting feel of a cherished neighborhood place, where familiar faces and attentive service welcome you like an old friend.
Step inside, and you’re met with a gentle hum of conversation and the soft clatter of plates—a rhythm that invites you to settle in and enjoy a moment of quiet satisfaction. The atmosphere strikes a thoughtful balance between casual and cared-for, reflecting an establishment where both locals and travelers find something thoughtfully crafted on their plates and in their interactions.
The pace here is unhurried but never sluggish, an ideal setting to start the day or pause for a midday break. The kitchen’s blend of classic American breakfast and lunch favorites carries subtle nods to the owners’ French and Greek roots, enriching each bite with layers of familiarity and unexpected harmony. Whether it’s the hearty warmth of their biscuits and gravy, the satisfying heft of their breakfast burritos, or the delicate brightness of a fresh salmon tartar, the menu invites exploration without overwhelming — encouraging you to linger over a moment, a meal, a conversation.
Behind the scenes, you can sense the pride in both ingredient and preparation, creating dishes that feel as honest as they are generous. Portions are ample but never careless, and the service quietly supports an easy enjoyment of the meal and the place itself. It’s the kind of diner where a weekend breakfast stretches into sharing stories across the table, and a weekday lunch feels like a kind reset.
And when the choice is wine by the glass or a just-right cup of coffee, the feeling remains consistent: thoughtfully chosen, perfectly suited, and a small but meaningful part of your moment here. Woodett’s isn’t about rushing through a meal, but about appreciating those human moments that turn dining into something a little more lasting.

It was my first time trying out Woodett’s after living in the valley for a couple years…I wish I tried it sooner! I had the summer salad and the tomato chicken and they were worth every penny! The chicken was delicious, tasted very home-y. The ambiance was good and the service was excellent, barely any wait! Kudos to the chef for high quality everything! Will definitely come back for more.

In my opinion, this is the most delightful breakfast restaurant in town. The food is great, portions generous, service fast and friendly and the atmosphere is absolutely charming. My wife and I have been coming here for decades and we always look forward to it. On our most recent visit, I had their Mexican Omelette and my wife had their pancake breakfast but upgraded them to their pumpkin ones thanks to them being offered for the season. And, let me tell you, both were outstanding. I should note that parking can get tough on a peak season weekend and there can be a wait but it's totally worth it.

We stopped here when passing through town this morning. The staff is very welcoming, the atmosphere is nice and the food is fantastic. I had a chile relleno omelet and it was quite arguably the best omelet I’ve ever had. We will make it a point to eat there again next time we are in the area!

Very nice place for breakfast and lunch. The French and Greek owners provide an interesting nuance to large serving size all-American dishes. The biscuits and gravy (one of my favorite dishes) were like none I'd had before and I really liked them. They also offer catering services to homes an businesses.

Enjoyed their service and breakfast. Nice waiter, and waitress. Glad we found this place.

This is the most delightful restaurant in town. The food is amazing, portions generous, service fast and friendly and the atmosphere is charming. Connected with a world famous French chef that I know from a previous time in France and he directed me to a place that was close to my new home. This place is absolutely amazing.

I stopped by here for lunch one day and was very impressed. The service was great and so was the atmosphere. I ordered a burger and it was perfect. I sat out on the patio and it made for an excellent time. I will definitely be back and try some other things on the menu. It was my first time here but like I said I was surely impressed. It's right off the main road so you can't miss it. Plenty of parking when I went also. 2 thumbs up from me.
